The courses are designed to raise awareness of your own approach to conflict, introduce a range of theories about communication, conflict management, mediation and participatory processes.
It will improve your communication and conflict management skills.


While we will discuss a wide range of dispute resolution processes that involve third parties, we will focus on mediation.


Humans are imperfect communicators and this imperfection generates conflict. 
Many factors contribute to communication problems: culture, gender, age, class, environment. 
The training provides participants with a conceptual framework and practical advice for professional and personal development in dispute management.


After the course, the participants should have: 

  • An appreciation, and a new understanding, of the mediation process. 

  • An improved understanding, of the fundamental elements of communication and conflict resolution. 

  • Familiarity with the concept of, and tools for, negotiating and mediating conflicts.

Effective communication demands that the parties involved in communication have a shared

and clear appreciation of the various definitions and parameters about which information

is being exchanged. 

 

This training provides an insight on how we communicate, your personal style of communication and how to use the different communication skills in order to prevent conflicts.

Modern Diplomacy as a tool for conflict prevention

3-day training

Focusing on diplomatic mediation as a key diplomatic skill and tool for conflict resolution.

The training provides a general framework of conflict and conflict resolution. Tailored courses on strategic reflections and multilateralism. Strengthening the communication and mediation skills of the participants. 


Basic concepts, definitions, theories and approaches on the causes of the conflict and approaches on interventions to conflicts are presented in the program. In this sense, the sources and the causes of the conflicts, factors, stakeholders and their interests and positions, conflict dynamics, various preventive methods, negotiations that are involved in conflict transformation are the topics.


This training provides the necessary information and skills for various careers including local mediation, international humanitarian aid and peace building organizations. 
 

Developing your conflict competence 

3-day training

Conflict competence is the ability to develop and use cognitive, emotional, and
behavioral skills that enhance productive outcomes of conflict while reducing
the likelihood of escalation or harm. The results of conflict competence include
improved quality of relationships, creative solutions, and lasting agreements for
addressing challenges and opportunities in the future. As with all competencies,
people can learn ways to improve, change, and develop.

This 3 day training helps the participants to understand how conflict begins and unfolds. Cognitive understanding of the “ mechanics ” of conflict helps to demystify the impact
of conflict.
